Project Background
As an energy hub seeking economic transformation amid the global energy transition, the Iraqi government has actively promoted the development of green transportation, aiming to resolve the development bottleneck caused by the severe lack of charging infrastructure.
Implementation
Charging stations were deployed along the Baghdad–Basra highway, adopting the Chinese “TELD” solution and installing dedicated AC/DC charging piles designed for the high-temperature and sandstorm conditions of the Middle East.
Project Significance
- Filling the infrastructure gap: building the first “green artery” for electric vehicles in the region.
- Driving energy transition: demonstrating an oil-producing nation’s determination to shift toward clean energy.
- Promoting economic diversification: attracting investment and creating jobs.
- Improving the ecological environment: significantly reducing air and noise pollution.
