Project Background
Hong Kong is committed to sustainable development and regards EV promotion as a key measure in building a smart city. The government leads large-scale public charging facility construction to improve the environment and move toward carbon neutrality.
Implementation
Professional operators were introduced to build and operate the network, with deployment focused on public parking lots, government buildings, and public housing estates. Private buildings were also encouraged to install chargers, forming a broad “public + private” integrated charging network.
Project Significance
- Government leadership: playing a leading role in steering the green transportation transition.
- Ecosystem building: meeting the essential charging needs of citizens without their own chargers.
- Supporting carbon neutrality: significantly cutting emissions and supporting the 2050 carbon-neutrality goal.
- International image: enhancing facilities to strengthen the city’s green competitiveness.
